U-20 World Cup Preview: Ecuador vs France

Ecuador and France square off for a place in the quarter finals of the 2011 U-20 World Cup tonight in Cartagena.

Ecuador come into the match having qualified second from their group with one win, one draw and one defeat, while France also finished second in their group, recovering from a 4-1 thrashing by Colombia in their opening match to record wins over South Korea and Mali that secured their place in the last sixteen.

Coach Sixto Vizuete is likely to stick with the same starting eleven that brought Ecuador a 3-0 win over Costa Rica in their final group match, with Bryan De La Torre retaining his place on the right of midfield after an excellent performance. There is a slight doubt over the fitness of Marcos Caicedo, but he is expected to play.

Ecuador will therefore line up as follows: John Jaramillo, Mario Pineida, John Narváez, Dennis Quiñones, Edder Fuertes; Bryan De La Torre, Fernando Gaibor, Dixon Arroyo, Marcos Caicedo; Edson Montaño, Marlon De Jesús.

France, coached by Francis Smerecki, are likely to line up as follows: Jonathan Ligali, Loic Nego, Sebastien Faure, Timothee Kolodziejczak, Gueida Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly, Francis Coquelin, Gael Kakuta, Gilles Sunu, Antoine Griezmann, Cedric Bakumbu.
