In the sixth round of matches in the second phase of the 2011 Ecuadorian Serie A Championship, Deportivo Quito continued their fine start to the campaign with a 1-0 win away to LDU Loja. Carlos Ischia’s side have now won all six of their matches in the second phase, scoring twelve goals whilst conceding none.

LDU Quito maintained second place with an injury time winner in a thrilling 3-2 victory away to local rivals El Nacional. Hernan Barcos was again amongst the goals, scoring twice to add to his five goal haul against Manta the week previous.

Barcelona are in third after a 3-1 win at home to Imbabura, while their Guayaquil neighbours Emelec languish in eighth following a 2-0 defeat to Deportivo Cuenca. The pressure is starting to build on Emelec’s Uruguayan coach Juan Ramon Carrasco with his side now having lost as many games (three) as they did in the entirety of the first phase.
